The Method of Tahajjud
Prophet Muhammad (S) used to wake up in the last third of the night after sleeping earlier. He would then offer prayer until his feet swelled up. Engrossed in worship, he would make dua for the Muslims and repent to Allah, asking for His forgiveness. This is one of the prescribed ways to get close to Allah and attain His love.

We can offer Tahajjud Prayer at any time during the night after Isha and before Fajr. However, the most ideal is to offer it in the last third of the night. Allah told us that this is the time that He goes to the lowest heavens and awaits Muslims’ duas and their repentance.
We should offer Tahajjud in batches of two rakats. First, we find a clean place, make the intention, then raise our hands to our ears, and say Allahu Akbar. We recite the Sana, then Surah al-Fatiha, then a short surah (or a long one, or a few verses of a specific surah).
After this, we perform Ruku, then stand, then offer two sujuds. We stand up once again and repeat the procedure. Then, we sit and recite the prescribed duas before completing the salah with Taslim. Our two rakats of Tahajjud are not complete, and we may offer more in the same manner.
